Learning the ways of the Lord, the fun way!

In this time of the pandemic, Santi is Don Bosco Technical Institute’s means of integrating online learning into their catechetical process.

While the online learning project aims to provide a fun holistic educational experience to the students, it also intends to give teachers and administrators a more convenient and intuitive system to monitor the students’ progress.

Challenge

The challenge was to create a fun-looking, easy-to-use digital platform with the goal of improving the students’ and teachers’ experience of Don Bosco’s Christian Living Education program. To achieve this goal, these were the key constraints that needed to be solved:

Our solution was to first identify Santi’s key features based on Don Bosco’s curriculum for Christian Learning Education, and then structure the site architecture & navigation around a model that is familiar to young people and adults alike. We then integrated a gamified experience where students are able to track their progress and earn badges for various achievements.

User tests were done by the Don Bosco team to identify what features students and teachers believe to be important and where they would expect to find them. Data gathered from these tests helped me with designing the structure of the site, the navigation, and content hierarchy.
